Get Your Vote On and @ridings4ridings are teaming up to provide expert tandem bike riders to pick you up and take you to the polls! In addition to four bike stops in Davie Village, Commercial Drive, Main & 49th, and Kitsilano on election day, we will also be able to pick up a limited number of voters from their homes!

The City of Vancouver will be one big election day party on Nov 19!

Here is some Riding for Ridings info as well:

Occupy Wall Street has turned into a Global Movement that is now spreading to Vancouver. Last week there was a small gathering at the Art Gallery and this week there is a protest that aims to be patient, and long term continuing.
Saturday, October 15th,

Occupy Vancouver - A Non Violent Movement
for Social, Economic and Political Change

for more details follow the link
It's quite breathtaking how radical and quick this is moving. There is lots of room for local leadership and growth. This is a globalised movement in solidarity but it will be local in direction and aims to universally appeal to "the 99%." Come out today!

Here are a few connc:
Time's Up! Sound Bike Dance Party at Occupy Wall Street

As cyclists and pedestrian users of the street we have keen insights to add to this movement as we have a much more accurate perception of the role that public space has and how the globalised phenomenon of car culture cuts off people's public social connection to their city.

And don't forget the Egyptian revolution (The Tahrir moment) only really came into full force once they censored the Egyptian Internet. We need to Get off the Internet, I'll meet you in the street!

revised ltrhead with new address

The Vancouver Area Cycling
Coalition is incredibly proud of the year 2010 has been, and we know
that we couldn't have done it without your support.
In celebration of a year of good work, and in appreciation of you and
all our members, we're pleased to invite you to our annual member
party, and our first ever art show.
Come by the Britannia Community Centre on
Sunday Dec. 12, from 6:00 - 9:00pm
and help us celebrate a
wonderful year. If you've got art lovers on your holiday gift giving
lists, keep them in mind while you check out our selection of
bike-themed art. The commission on works sold will support our Bike to
School 2011 Program and we're pleased to have a small collection of
photography, painting, and mixed media pieces.
Most importantly, we want to share our success. We've passed each other
on the bike routes, and waited together at stop lights, now we have a
chance to chat over a glass of holiday cheer. If you'd like to bring a
dozen cookies for the table, we all know how hungry cyclists appreciate
them! ;)
Don't forget, volunteers with Bike to Work this year get a free drink
ticket, and if you haven't bought or renewed your membership yet, you
can stop by and do so at the door. Gift memberships will also be
available.
All the best for the season to you and yours. Happy New Year, and
hopefully, we'll see you Sunday!
Sincerely,

VACC Board & Staff
