Subject: Oct 4th: ride with us to say no to extreme oil.
Join us on October 4th, bring some wheels and ride to celebrate the Arctic with friends and family to be part of the solution! What: Ice Ride, RSVP on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/events/859315850745777Where: Connaught Park, 2390 W 10th Avenue Who: YOU! When: Saturday, October 4, 2014.
RSVP here for Ice Ride, so that we know you're coming. As climate change melts the Arctic, it becomes a big target for the oil industry. Companies are looking for oil using using destructive exploration techniques and want to eventually drill in these icy, northern waters. We are building a global movement to shine a light on what's happening in the Arctic so we can help put a stop to the destruction before it happens. By joining Ice Ride you can be part of this movement, through action! Ice Rides are happening in communities around the world this Saturday. This is a family-friendly ride that will go at a pace to accommodate everyone who's participating and we will have first aid trained people at the ride, but you are responsible for your own safety. RSVP here and we'll see you on Saturday! Earyn Wheatley West Coast Organizer, Greenpeace Canada PS. We're also encouraging you to go to solidarity events for Sisters-In-Spirit Vigil organized by The Native Women's Association of Canada. Family members, indigenous community members, and concerned people gather for a vigil on October 4th on Parliament Hill to honour the growing number of missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls.
