Sequel to Roads Were Not Built For Cars goes live on Kickstarter.com I've just gone public with the crowdfunding campaign for Bike Boom, the follow-up to Roads Were Not Built For Cars. I'm pretty nervous – it's a very public way of getting, or not getting, support for a project. The project can be accessed at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/carltonreid/bike-boom-the-book There are plenty of pledge levels, from £1 to, er, £1,095, and every penny will go towards making Bike Boom as good a read and as popular as my first history book. There's even a video on the Kickstarter page. I make two very brief appearances. I'm happier behind the lens. I appreciate the support I get from Kickstarter backers. They'll get rewards, such as first edition books, but they're also plugged in to the backer-only emails that will chart the progress of the book. As I say on the Kickstarter page, backers are along for the ride. And on that note, I'll get on my bike and go buy a sarnie for lunch. Carlton |
